Quilts as Art 2005
New !! This year at the Moscow Country Fair Art Show
July 29,30,31
A series of special events saluting Quilts as Art
Something Old is New
The North Pocono Cultural Society regrets that the traditional Quilt Show and exhibit will not take place this year. Instead, Art Show organizers have planned a number of special events for quilters and the general public. This project was supported, in part, by a Lackawanna County Arts and Cultural Grant, a program of the Lackawanna County Commissioners and the Lackawanna Council on the Arts. Your support is also encouraged. With the interest and assistanc of loyal quilters, plans could be underway to continue the former Quilt show on a biennial basis, beginning in 2006. Please call or email to volunteer help of any kind.
Special Events
Pennsylvania Quilts: the art and history around us. A slide/lecture with an exhibit of sample quilts presented by local expert and author, Lorraine Ezbianski. The State Museum of Pennsylvania Quilt Project is described by this quilt artist. Open to the public, with tips on care and preservation of quilts.
